Hope
It was a strange feeling riding in with Steve this morning. The last time we had driven in to work was three years ago. A lot has happened since then. He moved to NY after having been laid off the first time. Dad died, I finished my MA, Bryan came home from his Rotary year abroad, and Ally got engaged. We lived apart for thirteen months until he was laid off again. Bryan went off to college, we connected up to the sewer( a major expense, I'll have you know),Ally got married,Mom and I went to EU, Steve and Bryan joined us in EU,I started a new position, and started a second MA, Ally moved to Denver and Jason stayed in Pennsylvania. All the while Steve had been unemployed. In an effort to stay together in this small Midwestern area, our solution has been for him to obtain several sub positions both as a teacher and as a paraprofessional. Between all the towns that surround us, the hope is that he will get a call for daily work. That first call did materialize the same day he plugged it into Subfinder. He worked today and he was glad. There is hope.
